Dr. Dennis Herman
Interim Pastor
Dr. Dennis Herman presently serves as interim pastor. Dr. Herman and his wife, Betsy Newton Herman, are the parents of three grown children and two grandchildren. He is a graduate of Union Theological Seminary of Virginia, the Wake Forest University School of Pastoral Care, the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Appalachian State University. Dr. Herman and his wife served as missionaries in Colombia and Ecuador from 1978-91. He has been pastor of churches in Virginia and North Carolina. In addition to his responsibilities at Oxford Baptist Church, he is part-time chaplain at the Duke Raleigh Hospital and is endorsed in chaplaincy by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.

Cindy grew up in Newnan, Georgia but has called Oxford home since 1980 when she came to OBC to serve as Minister of Music. She is a graduate of Tift College and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Cindy is a member of the Choristers Guild and the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers. Working with children and young people has always been an important part of Cindy’s ministry and in 2010 she assumed responsibilities as Interim Youth Minister. Cindy and her husband, David, are the parents of Martha Lynn Brown (Nathan), Joshua, and Kyle.
