WORSHIP at Oxford Baptist

~ Sundays @ 11:00 AM

Worship is at the heart of all we do at Oxford Baptist. Choral and instrumental music, corporate and private prayer, reading of the scriptures, and the proclaimed message make up our worship experience.

Children’s Worship

At Oxford Baptist Church, we believe that worship is the most important thing we do as believers. While we provide opportunities for our children during worship, we believe it is important for children to see their family members worshiping and to attend worship with their families. In order to make our services child-friendly, we offer a special Children’s Bulletin and a Children’s Sermon. This allows our young worshipers to feel welcome and to participate in an age-appropriate way.

The children’s sermon usually occurs after the first hymn. Children come forward on the final stanza and meet the children’s worship leader at the front of the sanctuary. After the leader shares and has a prayer, the children either return to their seats or go with the leaders to the children’s building for extended session.

Extended Session is provided for our infants through Kindergarteners in the children’s building. Volunteers sign up to care for and teach these young children. Our 4 and 5 year-olds and some younger ones come to the worship service with their extended session leaders. Following the children’s sermon, they return to their classroom for a snack and activity time.
